In a surprising crossover event that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Disclosed

According to the formal release, "A mysterious encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of banned ceremonies and fearsome transformations resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine cult.

The adventure focuses on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses

The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a striking moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an exclusive katana together with several objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Content

This release also adds the game's third free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
